Summary: Daniel is lost, and he will never be able to find his way back.
A/N: This entire fic was inspired by a prompt on Amnesiakink. Sadly someone started to fill it, but only wrote one chapter before grinding to a halt, so here is my attempt to make something out of it. Here's the prompt:
What if the entire thing was just one big hallucination?
Daniel's really in Brennenburg, but there is no Alexander, no other worlds, no orb, no Gatherers, no Shadow, and there never was. He wanders aimlessly around the castle, and due to a bit too much laudanum, starts to think there are monsters everywhere, he is a murderer, and that he must kill an imaginary man named Alexander. The pain of the monsters is actually self inflicted, though he doesn't realize it, assuming that it is all the monster's fault.
