Fun, Fun, Fun!

I finished Penumbra Overture early Monday morning, and now I'm slowly plowing my way through it's sequal, Black Plague. After that, I'll play the strictly puzzle expansion, Requiem.
Overall, Overture is a good game, even if the protaganist is a fucking idiot. (Gets a letter from the father that he has never met and who had been declared dead 30 years ago. Letter asks him to destroy some documents, instead he goes to where the letter originated and ends up in this mine with zombiefied dogs and other weird shit. Does he bail? Oh no, he keeps pressing on. Moron.) You can tell the physicis engine is an earlier version of the one used in Amnesia, because it's not as smooth and immersive. When I picked up a chair in Amnesia and slung it out of my way, it felt like I had done so with my own two hands and not with a mouse. Not so in Overture. The graphics are nice, and the voice acting is superb - especially whoever did Red's voice. The soundtrack was done by the same person that did Amnesia's, and it is excellent. Here is the ending credit's them, which is my favorite tune from the game.
The game was not scary at all, which makes me think that I should have played it first instead of Amnesia. After playing Amnesia, it's going to take some serious work for a video game to scare me again. Xd
So for those out there that find Amnesia a little too tense, try Penumbra instead. It's well worth it.
