Okay people, here’s the latest. Early last fall, I began to have problems with my laptop overheating.. And I mean badly, bad enough that the cooling fans never shut off, bad enough that it began affecting performance. It was only about six months old, so my first thought was that it was dirty. Since I know next to nothing about taking apart a laptop, and since it was under warranty anyway, I took it up to meet the Geek Squad at the local Best Buy. They dismantled it, and found that it wasn’t that dirty, certainly not dirty enough to cause overheating like I was getting. They suggested that I send it off to have the cooling system looked at since it was still under warranty. I agreed and took it home to back up my hard drive.

I got my hard drive backed up but was never able to get it back up to Best Buy. As it got colder outside, the computer began overheating less and less, and eventually, it stopped completely. One upside to having the comp in the coldest room in the house I suppose. I quit thinking about it, right up until a couple weeks ago. A few weeks ago I had installed Maple Story, a free mmorpg, onto my comp and got completely addicted to it. After a few days, I noticed that the comp was getting warm during extended play, and then it started to get hot. The game started to lag really bad, and the comp started to overheat during other things as well. So less than a month before the warranty expired, it was back up to Best Buy, and from there off to the shop.

With two to six weeks until I see my comp again, depending on what the problem is and what needs to be done to fix it, needless to say, I won’t be seeing the internet much. There is another comp in the house that I can use off and on, but it’s old and junky, and I don’t like it much. Not to mention that it’s owner is as possessive of it as I am of mine. XD So cross your fingers and hope that a) they fix my computer and b) they do it quickly. I’ll try and be back as soon as possible.

Oh yeah, don’t get your hopes up for some updates when I get back. All of my fanfiction is on my hard drive.
