Minecraft pics!

So yeah, as the post below says, I'm addicted to Minecraft. Here's a few pics of the fun I've been having. XD

I was running the 1.9.2 prerelease, but the game's shitty coding caused it to push the entire load onto a single core of my dual core cpu. Bad news, so I went looking for a mod to fix the issues. I found one, but it only works for version 1.8.1, so I rolled back. Doing so, removed a few 1.9.2 features, including large fortresses in the Nether. Here you can see the result of that.

I love lava cliffs, so cool to look at, but I sure as hell wasn't going down there. XD

I also got to watch a dumbass Ghast try to drown itself. They are immune to fire and lava, but they can drown like just about every other mob in the game, excluding the octopus, and including me, even though I'm technicaly not a mob. XD

Hello Mr. Creeper. I see you, and you see me, but you can't get to me can you? Can you? I bet that just pisses you off too.

Slimes; the most elusive of all mobs. They only spawn on certain chunks, at level 16 or lower. There is only a ten percent chance they will spawn if other mobs can spawn as well. Without mods, most find them completely by accident. I had been looking for them, becaue they drop the slimeballs needed to make the sticky pistons needed for my automated mushroom farm. I used a nifty little program to find a couple chunks where they can spawn:

and used the one with the x coordinates 0 - 16 and z coordinates 96 - 128. I then hollowed out a large room and lit it up so hostile mobs couldn't spawn in there. And then I waited...
...and waited...
...and waited...
...and waited some more.
Finally I gave up, looked around on the Minecraft forums and learned that slimes will not spawn on peaceful mode, which is what setting I normally play on. The fun part of the game for me, is gathering materials and building shit. Mobs kinda ruin that for me, so I keep hostile mobs turned off. So I sighed in defeat, and turned the game back to normal mode and a few minutes later, yay! A slime!

Well I went and worked on my farm for a while to give them time to spawn some more, and when I came back, I found this.

Not shown is me walking into the room, heading towards the far end (which is not visible from a distance thanks to a fog effect that fills caves and such once you're below a certain part in the map.) and encountering dozens of slimes, many of them teh BIG kind, that can fuck your shit up if they touch you.

I scurried back to the doorway I had added to keep them from flooding my mine, and they all followed me.
Photobucket
so I was able to stand safely in the doorway and beat the shit out of them. If you kill them with your fist, or a block or something, they divide upon death until they're down to teh smallest size, which drop the needed slimeballs.

It took a while to get them all. XD

Now that the cpu issues is taken care of, I should see how well the game runs along with Fraps and make a vid of my house, farm, and mineshaft to show off. Granted it's nothing like some of the other vids I've seen, but I'm proud of it. :)
