I'll just answer the stuff that can apply to me since I only played the demo:

... scream like a little girl whenever a monster spawned close by?
I was basically two rooms away from the one monster in the demo when it walked by, so I just stared at it like, "Omgomgomgomgomg ;_____;"

... boast to others that the game wasn't that scary only to shit your pants shortly thereafter?
I think I said this to you... and then shat my pants (figuratively) at every turn (literally). ;__;

YES.

Yes. I was killed by the water monster three times before I quit the game. >>

Yes. ;_;

I thought. I didn't know. XD
