Ho boy...
So um yeah, I've been cruising through Amnesia: The Dark Descent for the past several days and um well...
It's a little scarier than I thought.
I was fine through the Rainy Hall, Entrance Hall, Archives, Wine Cellar, (even though the game glitched here and the monster that was supposed to spawn and then disappear after a few seconds wouldn't disappear. I had to exit the game and try again.) Laboratory, the Refinery, the Cellar Archives, and the Archive Tunnels. (The Archive Tunnels were a fucking blast!) The Back Hall was a nice breather, and I quickly made it through the Guest Room (Had to hide from a monster in a wardrobe.) and the Study, but then I had to go through Storage. I'd heard horror stories about Storage, but things were fine - until I picked up what I had come in there for. Two Grunts spawned, and while I was able to get past the first one by sneaking behind him and then dunking behind a half wall and wait for it to leave to room, the second I had to run straight towards and make it past to the exit to the Back Hall. By the time I was done, I had to exit the game for a bit because my hands were shaking.
I then went through the machine room and took the elevator down. Now I have to go through the Prison, widely regarded as the most frightening place in the game. I've heard that some people never completed the game because they couldn't get through the Prison. I've seen footage of the Prison; it's nearly pitch black, and there are several monsters.
Did I mention that I'm almost out of oil, and that the place is a mini maze? Good news is, I have tinderboxes coming out of my ears.
*steels nerves, takes deep breath* Here I go....

I crawled through the hole in the floor in the cell, and I was looking around and following the signs to the storage area, when a monster spawned, and I had to run like hell from it. I hopelessly lost, and while trying to backtrack to where I was, the fucker reappeared. (Glitch, I suppose.) I didn't feel like dealing with it anymore, so I exited. The adventure will continue tonight. XD

I exited out of there into the Entrace to Cistern. From there I went through the Cistern, the Control Room, the Morgue, and now I'm on to the Sewers.
